Nebanda murder: Trial kicks off

The trial of the six suspects accused of causing the death of former Butaleja Woman MP, Cerinah Nebanda, kicks off today.

The trial of the six suspects accused of causing the death of former Butaleja Woman MP, Cerinah Nebanda, kicks off today (Monday) at Makindye court.

The key suspect Adam Sulaiman Kalungi, the late MP’s boyfriend and other suspects are appearing before Chief Magistrate Ester Nambayo.

 They include: Noor Abubakar, Khan Babu, Abdul Abid Rashid Butt, Ali Omar Almuzahim, and Fatuma Babu.

Prosecution alleges that Kalungi along with his five co-accused on December 14, 2012 in Buziga Makindye Division in Kampala, unlawfully caused the death of MP Nebanda.

They are facing charges of manslaughter, two counts of being in possession of narcotic drugs contrary to the National Drug Policy and Authority Act plus supplying and dispensing restricted drugs.
