Ben Komakech was the highlight of the Friday Night Lights All-Star event when he walked away with a whopping shs 1 million cash prize after fending off stiff competition from 10 other contestants to win the FNL Skills Challenge at the YMCA court.

Dribbling through an obstacle course, nailing a pull-up jumper, making an accurate bounce pass, which were all characteristic of the Skills Challenge, Komakech recorded a time of 1minute 8seconds in the final round of the challenge to eclipse Angela Namirimu,s time of 1minute, 20 seconds to stroll away a rich man.

Komakech stepped up to the plate against the likes of Norman Blick, Jimmy Enabu, Yusuf Mohammed, Maureen Amoding, Angela Namirimu, Ivan Enabu and Emmanuel Enabu whom he outwitted to set up a gender balanced final against Namirimu, which he made good on by winning.

Other highlights of the fun-filled day saw Barbara Okot claim a Samsung Galaxy Duos phone upon winning the 3-point shooting challenge on the same night that journalists were shocked to a 20-18 defeat by the celebrities at the YMCA court.

 The main game of the day saw a select Team Red rallying behind finalist Henry Malinga, earn themselves a sh500,000 cash prize after an 87 - 75 late surge win over Team Black.

Team KB08 takes on Team Malinga in the grand finale of the eight-week fan driven event which concludes on April 5 at the YMCA court. The winner from this match-up will likely walk away with a sh5m grand prize.
