The crew of John Consta and Musa Nsubuga have vowed to make a successful defence of the OiLibya Mt. Elgon Rally title.

The team that won the crown for the first time last year, will battle in the Mbale event to run for three days starting Friday.

Consta told New Vision that he is ready to take on the 2014 National Rally Championship (NRC) title winner Ronald Ssebuguzi.

Ssebuguzi has already confirmed his participation in the race.

“I am aware that Ssebuguzi and other drivers like Duncan Mubiru have registered. I am ready to take them on as I did last year,” Consta stated.

Ssebuguzi’s registration ends speculation that he was not going to compete having sealed the championship during the Independence rally last month.

The event in Mbale has also attracted the crews of Omar Mayanja and Leone Ssenyange, Pole Pole Wilberforce and Mike Kigozi and Dr. Ashraf Ahmed and Peter Stone.

Ashraf is likely to drive his new Subaru N16.

In total, 21 crews have registered for the event. The event, organised by MOSAC Club, is the second last on the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda calendar this year.

The OiLibya-sponsored event will cover the districts of Mbale, Kumi and Bukedea.
