Kikawa replaces Otim on the Rugby 7s Squad

The national rugby 7s team coach Yayiro Kasasa has dropped Heathens winger Allan Otim and replaced him with Brian Kikawa in the squad that leaves on Thursday for Africa 7s tournament in Harare Zimbabwe on Saturday and Sunday.

Africa 7s tournament pools

Pool A: South Africa, Tunisia, Madagascar, Zambia, Senegal and Botswana.

Pool B: Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Namibia and Ivory Coast.

The national rugby 7s team coach Yayiro Kasasa has dropped Heathens winger Allan Otim and replaced him with Brian Kikawa in the squad that leaves on Thursday for Africa 7s tournament in Harare Zimbabwe on Saturday and Sunday.


The tournament will be the qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Otim performed below expectations during both the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow Scotland and Kenya Safaricom 7s’ tournaments in August and September respectively this year.

Uganda is pooled in group B against neighbours Kenya, Namibia, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Hosts Zimbabwe while Pool A has South Africa, Tunisia, Madagascar, Zambia, Senegal and Botswana.

 The two day tournament that has attracted 12 teams will have the top 8 teams play the 2016 Olympic qualifiers with the winner qualifying for the Olympics.

 The squad named includes, Emmanuel Ecodu, Eric Kasiita, Ramathan Govule, Solomon Okia, Philip Wokorach, Michael Wokorach, Lawrence Ssebuliba, James Musiitwa and James Odong.

Others on the team are Pius Ogena, Alfred Bijik (cpt) Brian Kikawa, Yayiro Kasasa (coach) Manager Michael Wandera and Michael Kebb (Physiotherapist).
