Namakula shines at military games

Flavia Namakula extended her brilliant form to the 8th World Military Golf Championship in Bahrain, helping the UPDF ladies team to a silver medal.

Flavia Namakula extended her brilliant form to the 8th World Military Golf Championship in Bahrain, helping the UPDF ladies team to a silver medal.


The Ugandan ladies Champion returned 308 gross over four rounds to finish second behind Jeffery Linda (293 gross) of the United States. N. Johnson (309 gross) from Germany finished third.

“Very tough game today against two USA ladies but finished second. Silver medal for me just good enough. So happy. Thank you God,” Namakula posted on her social media account.

Captain Evelyn Asiimwe was the second lady on the seven-man team. The rest are Captain Bob Drani, Captain Aloysius Kimera, Sergeant Yona Ntegyerize, Private Timothy Okwi and Private Geoffrey Orach.

The team is competing alongside other military teams from Botswana, Canada, Germany, Thailand, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa and the United States of America who are fieldng golfers in both the men and women categories.
