A CALL TO PARLIAMENTARIANS OF UGANDA TO SUPPORT THE PETITION OF OLDER PERSONS OF UGANDA TO NATIONALLY ROLLOUT OF THE SENIOR CITIZENS GRANT (SCG)
In June 2014, Older Persons of Uganda under their umbrella of National Network of Older Persons of Uganda (NNOPU),The Uganda Reach the aged (URAA) and allied organisations under USPP supporting the social security for older persons presented a petition requesting for the national roll out of the senior citizens grant. On Thursday 6th November 2014,
the same petition was presented to Parliament by Hon. Flavia Kabahenda Rwabuhoro MP Kyegegwa District and
the Chairperson of The Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection. The Speaker of Parliament directed the
Committee on Gender, Labour and Social Development to study the petition and later inform Parliament. The Petition is
