It was meant to be a historic afternoon when Uganda Cranes put one foot in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. The Cranes were so close to realising their dream.
 
Mike Mutebi's men marched into this blockbuster clash convinced that a win against the star-studded Black Stars team on July 3, 2004  was possible.
 
Unfortunately, the expectant afternoon at Mandela National Stadium turned miserable when Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan cancelled out David Obua's first half goal.
 
As Cranes prepare for another battle against Ghana's Black Stars this Saturday, New Vision relieves some moments from that previous fixture in Kampala.
