Eight senior police officers shuffled

THE Deputy Inspector General of Police, Okoth Ochola has reshuffled eight senior police officers. Among the eight officers, two have been appointed as District Police Commanders (DPC).

 

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abel Ngako from Police headquarters has been appointed DPC Amuru district while ASP Micheal Ongona from the Field Force Unit (FFU) is now the Nwoya district DPC.         

 

Other transferred included Superintendent of Police (SP) Robinson Anywar from Amuru district to FFU, D/ASP Ben Etop from Kawempe has been deployed in Amuru as Officer In-charge of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Directorate (CIID), replacing A/ASP Fred Oyaka, who has been transferred to CIID headquarters.

 

ASP Edmond Mwesigwa from Amuru OC CIID has been transferred to FFU, ASP David Epedu from Kiira division is the new OC station and ASP Jospeh Ocen from FFU is the new staff officer in North Kyoga region.             

 

In an interview with New Vision on Wednesday, Deputy Police spokesperson Polly Namaye confirmed the transfers saying it was police’s policy to transfer its officers who have served at specific stations for a long time.

 

“It is the Human resource management of Police which comes up with a plan for the redeployment needs and requirements basing on different conditions,” Namaye said.

 

Namaye said the transfers take immediate effect.
