European welterweight kickboxing champion Jarkko Jussila arrived in Uganda with a promise to teach his opponent Sharif Bukenya a few lessons.

“I have been getting the reports. He has been talking a lot about how he will beat me. But it is good that the time for talking will soon be over,” warned the Finnish fighter soon after arrival.

Jussila, a European champion,” arrived together with another fighter from Finland Seifulia Shamil.

Jussilla boasts of 10 wins and three losses while Bukenya has won all his five fights.

Shamil will take on another Ugandan Abu Kikenwa in a five round contest.

The fights will be held at Freedom City on Entebbe road today.

The main event between Jussila and Bukenya is a ten round contest.

The fighters met for the first time at a weigh in at the same venue yesterday.

World Kickboxing Federation executive member Friedrich Exenberger will supervise the main fight.

Event organiser Eddie Gombya was last week boosted with an air ticket offer from Ethiopian Airlines.

The $1,040 (sh 2.7m) ticket caters for Exenberger’s travel from Frankfurt.

“I must say all is set. All we are waiting for is the first gong. May the best man win,” Gombya remarked ahead of the weigh in yesterday.

Jussila and Shamil will today make a donation to one of Kampala’s foster homes.

“It’s a gesture of giving something to the under privileged in memory of their almost similar childhood in Finland,” explained Gombya.

Kickboxing fans are eagerly looking forward to the fights.

Many hope they will watch entertaining fights.
