KAMPALA - City musician Pius Mayanja popularly known as Pallaso is facing charges of assault and trespass after reportedly attacking an aide of two other Ugandan musicians.

Pallaso and three accomplices were arrested on Friday for allegedly assaulting a one Patrick Sennyondo and they remain in police detention.

The incident occurred in Kizungu zone in Makindye, a city suburb.

The victim who reportedly sustained face and knee bruises told the police that he was beaten by Pallaso abetted by his group at the home of singers Mowzey Radio and Weasel of the Goodlyfe.

“These four people led by Pallaso stormed our place in the early hours of the morning, and before knowing anything, the guys started pounding me on the orders of Pallaso,” he explained.

In his police statement, Sennyondo said Jeff Kiwanuka, the former Goodlyfe manager demanded access to the home yet Mowzey and Weasel were away in South Africa.

When Sennyondo denied him access, Kiwanuka called Pallaso who summoned a gang that forced their way into the compound where they grabbed and beat him up.

Katwe Police Station boss Ibrahim Saiga confirmed they received the report.

“We got a report that singer Pallaso had assaulted Sennyondo, an aide to singers Mowzey and Weasel. This prompted us to start our search and by Friday afternoon, we had arrested him and his group."

Saiga said Pallaso’s accomplices included Ivan Mukiibi Marvin Kyamu and Suleiman Kitandwe.

The police boss told New Vision the four will be produced in court on Monday to answer charges of assault and trespass.
