The Police on Thursday did a second search at the residence of a top ministry of works official, who was arrested in connection with a sh76m fraud.

They interrogated three other Imperial Royale Hotel staff in connection with the fraud.

The Police also raided the home of Rosemary Tibiwa, an assistant commissioner in charge of transport.

The fraud was in connection with a planned half-day workshop by the ministry that never took place, but sh76m was claimed for “a two-day residential workshop” and was fully paid for by the ministry.

The money was “paid” to the hotel over and above sh6m earlier planned for a half-day workshop on the transport sector that also did not take place.

Meanwhile, another team interrogated three staff of Imperial Royale Hotel at the criminal intelligence and investigations directorate headquarters in Kibuli.
