Uganda will be represented by only two players in the on-going World Pool Championships in Scotland.

David Mugabi and Fielder Nabbanja who left for Scotland on Tuesday will, however, only feature in the individual category of the event.

Uganda will not be represented in the team event that involves top national seeds in the country. This comes after most of the players in the Ugandan team of 18 were denied visas for the event.

Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) was forced to call of the trip. PAU chairman Farouk Kisuze decried the visa saga as unfortunate for sports.

“It is very unfair that our players were denied an opportunity to enhance their talents because of lack of a rich travel history and individual financial position.

These are simply sportsmen and women whose talents have earned them a place on the national team. Do they have to be personally rich in order to participate in events hosted by the UK?” Kisuze wondered.
