Roger Mukasa hit 86 runs to help guide Uganda to the ICC Division II Cricket league, which will be held in Namibia in January after the country accumulated the required eight points.
This is after Uganda beat Bermuda by 7 wickets with 151 balls to spare in their last match of the ICC Division III cricket league that concludes Thursday with the final and placing match in Malaysia.
Uganda was chasing Bermuda’s set target of 140 runs.
It was a fast batting for Uganda’s opener, Mukasa, whose partner Arthur Kyobe was caught by Malachi Jones off a Dion Stovell ( 2 wickets for 30 runs) delivery at 18 runs, with the scoreboard reading at 75 runs.

Facing 68 balls, Mukasa had 8 boundaries and two sixes in the 92 minutes he spent on the crease, building another 54-run-partnership with Jonathan Ssebanja (20) before he was caught by Jordan DeSilva as he tried to hit another boundary from another Stovell’s delivery.
The workload had been done and Philemon Selowa (1*) and Brian Masaba (7*) managed to guide Uganda to victory after a strong bowling limited Bermuda.
Deliveries from Frank Nsubuga (3 for 26 runs), Henry Ssenyondo ( 3 for 40), Davis Arinaitwe ( 3 for 42) and Mukasa’s 1 for 14 saw Bermuda struggle with only Kamau Levrock (27) going over the 20 runs during their batting.
