Wobulenzi Day & Boarding Parents’ School started way back in 1987 immediately after the war in Luwero District.

BACKGROUND: 

 

Wobulenzi Day & Boarding Parents’ School started way back in 1987 immediately after the war in Luwero District.

The school started with only six children, four teachers accommodated in a shop as their classroom. As the number of children started increasing, the Director Canon Nsamba Edward started adding on other classes one per year until when the school accommodating children up to Primary seven.

By the year 1990 the school had the first sitting for the Primary Leaving Exams where it had 42 children sitting for their Exams, 36 children passed in division 1 and 6 children passed in division 2 and they didn’t attain any third grade which was beating the people’s understanding in Luwero District, since then, the school started operating fully where by currently its accommodating 1,200 children with 45 qualified teaching staff and 20 of the non-teaching staff.

CHALLENGES:

The school has had a few challenges though it had started during the time when the war has just ended. They faced a very terrible tragedy when a strong wind blew a very big block of six classes which they had just built and the school had to go under a big expense to rebuild the block.

CO-CULLICULAR ACTIVITIES:

 

The school has a number of activities apart from the daily class lessons;

• Music, dance & drama,  


Wobulenzi Day & Boarding School Choir.

 

• Sports, where the school had once time went to the final for the Kabaka Cup.

• Gardening, the school has about 1000 acres of land where they rear chicken, goats cows and different classes go for gardening on different days.

SCHOOL FEES:

 

Boarding Section: Shs 450,000 per term and it starts from Pre-primary to P.7

Day Section: Shs 200,000 per term P.3 – P.6

MEALS:

The school serves lunch for all the teaching,non-teaching staff and the children at school since they get it from the school farm.

OTHERS:

 

The School also has full time teachers since it provides houses for them.

Wobulenzi day & boarding parents’ school has had successful students among them are:

- Members of Parliament, Lawyers, Politicians among others all under one body (WOPASA)

- Wobulenzi Parents’ Old Students Asssociation, which has played a big role in the uplifting of the standard of the school currently.
