NANSANA - The killers of a woman found dead near her home in Nansana on Thursday are not yet known, a day after the grisly incident.

Agnes Naalinnya of Gganda in Wakiso district was found murdered Thursday morning.

Believed to be in her early thirties, she was found lying in a pool of blood at the roadside with a deep incision on the neck.

She owned a small eatery called Aggie’s Restaurant & Takeaway.

Naalinya’s lifeless body, with the head nearly severed off because of the nature of the incision, was discovered by early risers who were on their way to work.

In her hand was a sh10,000 note and a soda bottle top, and at her side lay a sh500 coin.

At the murder scene was also a one-litre Mirinda bottle that contained a substance that was mixed in the soda. There was also a cover of a phone and a pair of slippers. One of the slippers had its strap broken. There was evidence of a struggle at the scene.

Phone call

A brother to the deceased, Vincent Luutu, said: "Aggie returned home in the [Wednesday] evening but someone called her on phone. She left home at 9.30pm but did not say where she was going.

With tears rolling down his face, Luutu went on: "When she had not returned by morning, I went to buy airtime to call her and find out where she was. I had not reached the shops when a child came running and said someone had been murdered in the area. When I got there I found it was my sister."

The Gganda Police Post boss, Absolom Wabwire, launched an operation and searched guest houses in the area, saying the deceased could have been murdered in one of them and her body later dumped near her home.

The Nansana Police Station boss, Peter Twala, said they would use the exhibits found at the crime scene to trace who could have murdered Agnes.

After a post-mortem was done at Mulago hospital where the body was taken, relatives were allowed to proceed with the burial. Agnes will be buried in Masaka.
