Baryamureeba now chairman of MUBS council

Former Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Professor Venancious Baryamureeba, has been appointed chairman of the MUBS Council.

Former Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Professor Venancious Baryamureeba, has been appointed chairman of the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Council.

The University Council is the supreme governing and decision making body of the University.

Baryamureeba was appointed on Thursday, after he was unanimously voted unopposed by the university’s 30-man council.

The MUBS Public Relations Officer, Peter Odoki, confirmed the appointment, stating that the selection of Baryamureeba for the job, gave the university a new lease of life.

“He is an innovative intellectual, who comes in with fresh energy. With a successful background in Information and communication Technology and uncontested managerial skills at a big university, the sky is the limit for MUBS,” said Odoki.

Baryamureeba takes over from Dr. Collin Ssentengo, who stepped down after completing a maximum six-year term of three years a piece.

Baryamureeba will be deputised by Victoria Ssenkubuge. Dr. Nsubuga Kiyaga was also appointed chairman, University appointments board.
