Global Health Corps, an organization dedicated to mobilise a global community of emerging leaders to build the movement for health equity, has opened applications for its 2013-2014 fellowship.

Graduates from different professional fields with a dream to pursue a career in health are encouraged to apply.

The fellowship seeks to engage young professionals from diverse backgrounds and skills that are often viewed as outside of the traditional health workforce, including financial managers, communications specialists, architects, computer scientists and supply chain analysts.

The fellowship offers young leaders, under 30 years of age, year-long paid fellowships to work on a variety of global health issues in partnership with world-renowned organisations.

These professionals apply their expertise to strengthening health systems and organisations around the world by working with international organisations on the ground. Fellows work on issues ranging from HIV/AIDS to maternal and child health to agriculture and finance.

No working experience is required and applications will remain open until February 3, 2013.

As of today, there are 20 fellows working in Uganda on a full-spectrum of health issues with organisations like Clinton Health Access Initiative, Millennium Villages and Mpoma Community HIV/AIDS Initiative.

GHC Fellowships will be conducted in Burundi, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia and selected cities in the United States.
