Just when everyone thought Uganda’s team to the Africa Golf Confederation (AGC) President’s Cup in Zambia had recovered from the their opening day blues by returning a gross of 226 on day two, their day one ghosts returned to haunt them.
The team that had moved from 6th to 5th place after day-two, misfired again in the third round to fall two places behind after returning 323gross.
Willy Kitata’s 78, Peter Ssendawula’s 80 and Adolf Muhumuza’s 81 did not help Uganda’s quest as they now lie in 7th place after surrendering 5th position to Namibia who returned 227 in round three.
Uganda improved by twenty strokes after day two but instead of improving in the subsequent round instead worsened their game by 18 strokes to drop two places on the leaderboard.
Willy Kitata (237 gross) and Peter Ssendawula (237) are placed in 19th and 21st position in the individual standings while Adolf Muhumuza (238) and Phillip Kasozi (245) are 22nd and 26th out of 31 competitors from eight countries.
