KAMPALA - Several girls stormed Mackinon Suites on Saturday to try their shot at this year’s Miss Uganda crown slated for October 25 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The pageant is themed “Promoting Agriculture Entrepreneurship among Youth” and is organized by Kezzi Entertainment in tandem with Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).

Its judges have been to four regions of the country in the past two weeks and have managed to find 40 beauties (10 from each region) who joined more other girls for the Kampala auditions.

The auditions were conducted by Brenda Nanyonjo (Miss Uganda franchise holder) Joram Muzira (model scout) and former Miss Uganda beauty queen, Phiona Bizzu.

The girls were taken through question-and-answer sessions and modeling to find the 20 finalists who will vie for the final crown.

They will be unveiled on Tuesday at Mackinon Suites before going to the two-week boot camp that will involve visiting two designated farms as this year’s edition is specifically modeled to draw youths’ attention to agriculture.

Incumbent Miss Uganda Stella Nantumbwe was missing in action as she is in South Africa set to represent Uganda in the Big Brother Africa TV reality show.
