NAIROBI - The Uganda U-19 boys select squad are looking to emulate their female counterparts who won the Safaricom 7s trophy on Friday at Safaricom Stadium Kasarani.

Coach Robert Sseguya's boys put on a fight that saw them win all their opening games to storm Saturday's semi-final  Saturday after beating Kenya Coast 34-0, Nairobi A 17-17 before sealing their final group stage game against western Province whom they whipped 34-10.

Eddy Kayima, Isaac Tago, Eric Nyeko and Paul Epilo scored a try each as Allan Omoding managed two tries with Epilo adding two conversions to seal victory.

After making it as far into the tournament, coach Sseguya was optimistic his charges would go on to lift the trophy. "We are focused, we are going to correct our mistakes and see where we can adjust ahead of tomorrow [Saturday].”

His side last year lost in the semi-final stage due to complacency, a mishap he has cautioned them against this year.

“I didn’t bring tourists here and we want that trophy. No mistakes like last year,” Sseguya told the boys after their 34-10 victory against Western province on Friday.
