QDear Doctor,

My chest feels congested and I always have flu, especially at night. Two doctors have diagnosed me with sinusitis and asthma, respectively.

I also sneeze a lot in the morning and at night. Is there a permanent solution? What exactly could I be suffering from?
Josh

ADear Josh,
I would have to examine you thoroughly to ascertain what you could be suffering from. Asthma can cause symptoms, which vary from a cough to wheezing or shortage of breath. Some patients will have tightness in the chest, and others, no symptoms at all.

Asthma can also be induced by exercise, but it is manageable. It usually occurs as a result of constriction of the airways in the lungs. Constriction typically occurs as a result of inflammation. Doctors mostly focus on reducing the amount of inflammation in the lungs.

Sinusitis refers to inflammation of the sinuses that may result from a viral, bacterial, or fungal infection. Sinus infections are usually curable with self-care measures and medical treatment.

If you get recurrent attacks, you should check for underlying causes such as nasal polyps or allergies. The best way to prevent sinusitis is to avoid or quickly treat flu and a cold. Also, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, as they boost immunity and help the body resist infections.

You can also get an influenza vaccine each year, cut down on stress and wash your hands often, particularly after shaking hands. See a physician.
