The kit comprises a winter and wind jacket, as Sienna is cold, running attire and track suits.

The athletes will spend an extra two days in Sienna undergoing medical examination courtesy of Tuscany camp before coming back to Uganda.

Tuscany offered free medical care to the national team and they have been able to treat both Boniface Kiprop and Wilson Busienei, who had quit running due to muscle injuries.

Kiprop is now targeting running a marathon and qualifying for the next year’s IAAF World Championships, having run 62 minutes.

Team coach Giuseppe Giambrone, who owns the medical facility said that medical check-up is a must for all athletes, though many take most things for granted and by the time they realise, it is too late.

Team Uganda has Daniel Rotich, James Kibet, Kibet Soyekwa, Nathan Ayeko and Isaac Kiprop for the senior men category.

Philip Kipyeko and Stella Chesang will be competing in the men and women junior events, while Patricia Chekwemboi will be battling in the senior women.
