Local rappers Keko, Maurice Kirya and Naava Grey will represent Uganda at the inaugural music festival, TribeOne: Dinokeng that’s slated for September 26-28 in Tshwan, a town in South African town.


Over 350 global artistes and 100 deejays will perform on over 60stages for 72 hours of non-stop music that will feature international artistes like American rapper Nicki Minaj, J Cole, Ryan Lewis Macklemore among African artists like DBanj, Liquideep, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Kid Ink and many more.

The three Ugandan artistes are part of the Sony Music entertainment that has organized this fest alongside Rockstar 4000 and Power Horse, the more reason they were taken on for the project.


Speaking at the media launch on Monday morning at Serena Hotel, Rockstar regional manager Munya Daka said Uganda’s artistes will perform at prime times with Keko scheduled to perform on September 26, Kirya (27th) and Naava on 28th.


The three-day music festival expected to attract over 100, 000 music fans from all walks of life will have other 80 artistes performing live in multiple “Dance Village” domes.

The festival is primarily focusing on contemporary mainstream music genres like Hip Hop, RnB, Rap, Pop, Rock, Afrobeat, EDM, House, folk and adult contemporary split across three main stages.


There will be over 50 official staged busking points per day for emerging unsigned talent, creating a platform of close to 150 unsigned artists.
