A 25 year old woman Rose Katushabe has jumped from the fourth floor of Mulago hospital’s main building and died instantly. The incident took place on Tuesday at around 11.00am.

Speaking in an interview with the New Vision Online the hospital’s spokesperson Enock Kasasira said, the deceased was admitted in Ward 4C after she was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, severe Malaria and TB adding that she passed through the treatment room on the fourth floor and jumped to the ground.

He further revealed that, at the time of admission the deceased had no care taker. The deceased is a resident of Kikoni a Kampala Suburb.

Kusasira said after the deceased was diagnosed by a physician she was sent to a psychiatric who also confirmed that the deceased had HIV psychosis.

He added that at the time of the admission the deceased was vomiting and looked so weak.

“The body was taken to the hospital’s mortuary as the hospital authority is trying to tress the relatives,” Kusasira noted.

Now five people have committed suicide from the same place in just four years. A 45 – year-old Enos Mubiru in July this year jumped from the 6th floor of Mulago hospital’s main building and died instantly.
