Judges and magistrates from the 54 Commonwealth countries and 10 are attending a week-long conference aimed at deliberating on global issues faced by the judiciary.

Judges and magistrates from the 54 Commonwealth countries and 10 are attending a week-long conference aimed at deliberating on global issues faced by the judiciary.

The 16th Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA) Triennial conference was opened Tuesday by Vice President Edward Ssekandi at the Commonwealth Speke Resort Munyonyo on Lake Victoria shores hosted by Judiciary as part of the activities to mark 50 years on independence.

The conference has attracted over 300 under the theme "Justice for Everyone: Myth or Reality?"

Founded in 1970, CMJA strives to advance judicial independence, training, and cooperation in matters of interest and assistance where expertise is needed.
