Zambia 1 Uganda 0

IT was a great team display that saw Uganda Cranes earn a good result, despite losing 1-0, in their first leg of 2013 African cup qualifier game at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola.

African champions Zambia took the lead early in the first half through their skipper Christopher Katongo.

Goalkeeper Denis Onyango pulled off a stunning save deep in the second half from James Chamanga to keep Uganda in the tie ahead of the second leg.

Uganda only managed to create one clear cut chance throughout the game but substitute Dan Wagaluka’s spurned it and forced a good save from Zambian goalie Kennedy Mweene.

The result means that Cranes will have to win with a two goals margin come 13 October to book a place at 2013 Afcon in South Africa next year.
