Bean prices shoot up, vegetable drop

The price of beans has shot up, a kilogram that previously cost shs2000 (yellow beans), now goes for shs2500.

Evelyn Mugerwa, a beans trader in Owino market says that the hike is temporary. He attributed the rise in prices to the new school term.

On the other hand, Carrots, French beans and cucumbers have gone down. A kilogram of French beans dropped from shs4000 a kilogram two weeks ago to shs1500.

Other commodities prices remained stable
