Parliament appointment committee Tuesday deferred the vetting of a presidential nominee Aidah Nantaba as state minister for lands over academic discrepancies.

This after a concerned citizen of Kayunga Joel Bukenya petitioned the committee saying Nantaba’s academic papers are inconsistent and questionable.

Nantanba is the Kayunga district woman MP.

The committee chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga said they will get back to her after studying the petition presented before it.

The committee on Monday rejected presidential nominee Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere as minister for gender, labour and social development.

Sources said Kabwegyere was rejected on grounds of his advanced age and that he opposed the Domestic Relations Bill that was later split into the Marriage and Divorce Bill.
