Residents of Bubajwe zone in Bwaise II have embraced the new policy of general cleaning the area. Spearheaded by Shifrah Lukwago of KCCA, Kampala City Yange in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints.

This cleanup activity is part of the “Annual Helping Hands Day,” organized by this Church. This is to encourage and inspire the efforts of community social responsibility in Kampala.

Despite the poster that clearly warns residents not to dump rubbish at the spot, the cleaners found a mound of rotting garbage at the spot. Were they surprised? Not really. You'll see such in so many parts of the city. "Do not urinate here. Fine 50,000", but then you find a fresh mark of urine just pasted at that very spot. PHOTO/Esther Namirimu
