Kasumba bleeds embarrassment

WITH Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) telecasting live the arrival of Uganda’s Olympics gold medallist Stephen Kiprotich, Jane Kasumba, the seasoned female sports scribe kulembekad (embarrassed) herself just under the flight of stairs attached to the plane.

Expecting exclusive treatment and rights to be the first journalist to talk to Kiprotich, she charged with the widest grin even catwalk babes would envy. As soon as Kiprotich stepped down the stairs, Kasumba jerked for the scoop: “Hello Mr Kipro …” her interview was prematurely halted by a towering figure of an army man, who shrugged her aside and into the crowd of ordinary souls.

If FDC women league leader, Ingrid Turinawe, had seen the manner in which Kasumba’s ego was crashed, she would have felt consoled after her boobie pegging experience in the raunchy hands of a police officer.

Kasumba was about to protest and perhaps throw her celebrity and physical weight at the mystery army man, but when she took a good and look into the bloodshot eyes of his tormentor, she thought twice.

“The experience left her shaky. Even when she finally caught up with Kiprotich, she was clearly still traumatised and struggling to get over the public humiliation. She referred to him as Kipsiro!”

At least, we have to hand it to Kasumba for continuing to soldier on through the event wounded, but not down trodden. Star taffa, especially not in her own movie!
