MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND MINERA LDEVELOPMENT RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY INVITATION FOR BIDS UNDER OPEN DOMESTIC BIDDING

 

Consultancy Services to Conduct Feasibility Studies for Grid Extensions in the Proposed New Service Territories.

 

Procurement Reference Number: REA/SRVCS/11-12/00408/1-2 1. The Rural Electrification Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has obtained financing for construction of power lines and intends to apply part of the funds towards Consultancy Services to Conduct Feasibility Studies for Grid Extensions in the Proposed New Service Territories

under:

 

Lot 1: West Nile Service (Approximately 422.1Km); and Lot 2: North Eastern Service Territory including East Nile Territory (493.5Km)

 

2. The Rural Electrification Agency invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for provision of Consultancy Services to Conduct Feasibility Studies for Grid Extensions in the Proposed New Service Territories for the areas listed in No. (1) above.

 

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open domestic bidding procedures contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

 

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Rural Electrification Agency and inspect the bidding documents at the address given in No. 7 (a).

 

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a Written Application to the address given below in No. 7(b) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Uganda Shillings Two Hundred Thousand Only (UGX 200,000). The method of payment shall be by cash at The Rural Electrification Agency Accounts Office and an official receipt issued.

 

6. Bids must be delivered to the address given below in No. 7(c) at or before 12.00 Noon (Local time) on Thursday 13th September 2012. All bids must be accompanied with a bid security of :

Lot 1: Uganda Shillings Nine Million Only (UGX 9,000,000); and Lot 2: Uganda Shillings Eleven Million Only (UGX 11,000,000)

 

Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend at the address below in No. 7(d) at 12:15 p.m. (local time) on Thursday 13th September 2012.
