THE Emmy nominations are out ahead of the final ceremony in August and there are some nominations as expected, and some quite shocking.

Mad Men’s Jon Hamm and Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston face off for the category of Outstanding Male Lead, but, notably missing is Hugh Laurie, who was not nominated for his final season in House.

Mad Men like last year, has the largest number of nominations at 17, followed by Modern Family with 14.
New standouts like Homeland and Girls are poised to make upsets. Best Drama Series: Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Homeland and Mad Men.

Hall (Dexter), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Damian Lewis (Homeland) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men).
