URA FC midfielder Yayiro Lutimba has boosted the national U-20 soccer team when he turned up for training at Nakivubo stadium following an injury lay-off.

The left-footed player picked an ankle injury during the just concluded CECAFA club championship tournament in Tanzania. He featured in URA’s opener at the event where they beat home side Simba 2-1.

trueThe midfielder who missed the first leg of the Africa Championship qualifier against Ghana’s Black Satellites at Nakivubo on Saturday is hoping to be fit for the away second leg on August 11. The Hippos will be travelling to Tamale with a 3-1 advantage.

U-20 head coach Paul Nkata was happy about Lutimba’s presence but was skeptical about the stocky player’s fitness.

“If he is okay then it is a big boost. But if he is not fully recovered then it will be a big blow because we need him in Ghana as well,” Nkata stated.

However the midfielder looked fine in training. “I no longer feel the pain and tomorrow, the team doctor will give a final word,” Lutimba affirmed.

After today’s friendly against the Ex-internationals the players will be trimmed to a 23-man squad from 27, as they head for residential camp at Kavumba Recreational Centre.
