Stallholders at Katwe market in Kampala told the Omuwanika of Buganda, Nelson Ssebugwawo, that they would desert the market if action was not taken to integrate it with Kibuye market

Stallholders at Katwe market in Kampala told the Omuwanika of Buganda, Nelson Ssebugwawo, that they would desert the market if action was not taken to integrate it with Kibuye market.

A statement issued from Mengo said Ssebugwawo had visited six markets in the City area and was surprised to find vacant stalls at Katwe.

The few stallholders had told him that trade at the market had slowed down because of the existence of another market at Kibuye which was less than a mile away.

Ssebugwawo, who was accompanied by the divisional market master, Eric Mukasa, was assured by Bwaise traders that they were ready to pay higher dues if the Government improved their dues.
