Black''s Mzungu side of the story

Shanita Namuyimbwa a.k.a. Bad Black has been sentenced to four years in prison for embezzling sh11b from Daveshan, a company she jointly owned with her former British lover, David Greenhalgh.

Her accomplice, Meddie Ssentogo, was also sentenced to 18 months for conspiring to defraud the company. Greenhalgh took the two to the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala after his lover emptied their company’s account at Barclays Bank. CAROL KASUJJA caught up with Greenhalgh after the two were jailed

Hi David, you are all smiles, congs.
Thank you. I am now satisficed that the guilty were found guilty. I knew I was going to win this case.

Won’t you miss your girlfriend?
I do not have any particular reason to miss her because our relationship ended in April last year, when I started asking her for accountability for the company’s money. Besides, I have another   partner in Uganda. It is Shanita who is going to miss me. She has dropped from 1st world class back to 3rd world class. That girl has missed a great deal.

Don’t you care that she is going to be in prison with your child?
She says the baby is mine but I do not believe that. That baby is not mine. I last saw that baby when Shanita was in hospital on the day she gave birth. If she insists that the baby is mine, I am ready to go for a DNA test.

But if the child is not yours, why did you pay her hospital bills?
Shanita was a director at Davishan Development Company; it was our policy as a company to cover our employees health insurance scheme. When she gave birth, she asked for money because she had the right to. I paid the bills and gave her some upkeep money because her insurance was still active.

How sure are you that your new Ugandan girlfriend is not going to take you through what Bad Black has taken you through?
I’m wiser. She has no access to my bank account.

What do you like about Ugandan girls?
They are friendly, have a good attitude towards people and they have great bodies with curves.

After dating Ugandan babes, which Luganda words have they taught you?
Webale, kale and wanji.

People wonder why you decided to sleep with an uneducated and naïve girl
My marriage failed because I was always travelling to different countries and my wife could not accommodate that. When Shanita approached me at Rock bar, I gave her a chance because she was beautiful and she was above 18 years. I liked her personality. My focus was on the person not her education.

Is it true you used to make her perform demeaning sex acts?
No, those allegations were not true. She thought by testifying in that manner, she would win the case. I am a responsible man. I could not have hurt her like that. Are you married?

What is your beef with Meddie Ssentogo?
I have no beef with him. Why should I? I have never even talked to him. All I was doing was pursuing a criminal to recover the company’s properties. 

What exactly do you do for a living?
Ask my lawyers. If they allow, I will give you my business card. Or you can come with us to my office in Kololo.
