Three Congolese refugees died on Tuesday when a passenger bus they were travelling in overturned in Kabale district in Western Uganda.

The bus was transporting refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo from Nyakabande refugee transit camp in Kisoro town 521km (312 miles) southwest of Uganda's capital Kampala.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) started on Tuesday to relocate 17,000 refugees who fled recent conflict in eastern DRC to Rwamanja settlement.

Cox Nyakairu, the Kabale Resident District Commissioner, said the accident left scores injured.

Recently, Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, said social services in Western Uganda are being constrained because Congolese Refugees had doubled.

What role can Uganda play to ease the conflict in Eastern Congo?
