Rehema Nanyondo is multi-talented sportswoman who rocked the Nile Special National Pool Open when she became the first woman to make the quarterfinals in Kampala over the weekend. New Vision digs into how the mother of two juggles life between netball, basketball, pool and family.

Nick name: None.

Marital status: I am married to Robert Tumusiime (former SC Villa and KCC defender).

Favourite pool player: Jona Turigye. He plays so well.

Strength: I am able take difficult shots. I have the self-belief and a tendency to go for hard shots.

Weakness: I undermine weak opponents. In pool we call them ‘liver’ that can be eaten. Sometimes I end up losing to them.

I play like? Turigye.

Career highlight:  When I finished third in the Easter Cup at Pacify.

Lowest moment: When Ntinda Hot Pool team beat us (Samona) 8-1 in the league last month.

Four  of the best
Best trick: I am patient and place my ball well.

Best opponent: Tendo of Volts Club really troubles me in the league. She plays a patient game just like me.

Best teammate: Janat Kako. She takes advice and responds positively.

Best lessons: Ismail Kalibbala of Isabella Club taught me double shots, slow shots and draw-back and I take them so well.

Personal
Biggest Influence: My family influences me.

How would you best describe yourself? I am housewife, netballer at KCCA and basketball player with the same club. I am educated and I enjoy dancing as well.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years? I will have retired from netball and basketball because they are physically too demanding to a mother.

Favourites
Favourite music: Local Ugandan music.

Favourite song: Mama wange by Mesach Ssemakula.

Favourite musician: Jose Chameleon.

Favourite male celebrity: Haruna Mubiru.

Favourite gadget: My phone.

Dream wheels: Ranger Rover Sport.

Ideal day off: Hanging out with friends.

Quick fire
Best dish: Groundnuts and matooke (bananas).

Best drink: Pepsi.

Your message to the sports fraternity: Sports people should enjoy the game instead of taking it too serious because they want to win.
