Woman takes off shoes to cross road

A woman in Banda, Nakawa Division amused onlookers recently when she took off her shoes to cross the road.

The unidentified woman had made several attempts to cross the busy road, but each time gave up on seeing an oncoming car.

After spending several minutes by the roadside, she took off the shoes and carried them in her hands, then waited for an opportune moment to cross the road at break-neck speed.

Once safely on the other side of the road, she put the shoes on again, before boarding a Jinja-bound taxi.

Onlookers said the woman had been visiting her daughter who lives in the area. However, the daughter had left the old woman in the care of a maid, who, unfortunately, did not bother to help cross the road.
