THE court has ordered a probe into claims that two senior Police officers attached to Criminal Investigations Department (CID) received a sh50m bribe from Shanita Namuyimbwa Bad Black.

Justice Catherine Bamugemereire also directed that David Greenhalgh the former lover of Bad Black be investigated over sexual abuse claims by her.

"I would like the state to take interest in this matter of sexually abusing people, we need to protect people and corruption allegations against these two Police officers need to be investigated," Bamugemereire said.

Namuyimbwa also renounced her nickname Bad Black, saying her name is Shanita Namuyimbwa. In her defence, she said Greenhalgh abused her sexually when he had anal sex with her.

She told court earlier that two Police officers Denis Odongpiny and Moris Kalema asked for sh50m from her which she allegedly gave them so as not to prefer any charge against her.

Prosecution said Namuyimbwa and Meddie Ssentongo, between October 2010 and February 2011 in Kampala conspired and defrauded Daveshan Development of U$9m (about sh20b). Namuyimbwa is facing a separate charge of embezzlement of sh11b from Daveshan Development Limited.

In his defence on Friday, Ssentongo denied having conspired with Namuyimbwa to defraud Daveshan.  When asked about money that was transferred from Daveshan's account in Barclays Bank to his account, Ssentongo said the money was to for the car he sold to Namuyimbwa.

He (Ssentogo) testified that he only met Namuyimbwa when he sold to her a car and he has his company Electrolites which deals in real estates.

However, an audit report presented before the anti-corruption Court by the state earlier indicates that Namuyimbwa transferred sh3.1b from Daveshan Development account to that of her friend Ssentongo.

Prosecution led by Paul Lakidi alleges that in September 2010, Greenhalgh jointly formed a company with Bad Black. The company which was registered as Daveshan Development Limited, sought to deal in land purchase and property management.

Greenhalgh, who is a manager in Air Services in the UK, had 75% shares while Bad Black had 25% shares in the company and the two opened an account in Barclays Bank Garden City to operate the business.

According to prosecution, Bad Black did not contribute any money towards opening of the business.
