Amon Mugume, a 23-year-old Senior Six student, needs financial help to go to India for an operation. He is suffering from cornea problems in both eyes.

Mugume is a student of Sir Apollo Kagwa Secondary School in Mukono district. He developed the eye disease at the age of eight.

In need: Mugume

“With my eyes paining this much, I might not be able to do the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations well,” he said.

He said a cornea consultant at Mulago Hospital referred him to Hyderabad Eye Institute in India.
“I underwent surgery on the left eye in India last August and I was told to go back for further checkup and an operation on the right eye after three months,” Mugume said.

He, however, did not return due to lack of money. Mugume appeals to the public to help him raise $15,000 (about sh37m) for the final treatment.

The money can be deposited on account number 0285721849 in Barclays Bank Luwum Street under the names of UNAP Advocacy. Mugume can also be reached on 0775956915 or 0704195158.
