Nasser Mutebi thrives on mind games but if he is not pulling another of his usual pranks, then his dream of completing back-to-back victories in the UMC Rally in Masaka this weekend is under huge threat.

Mutebi switched from a Subaru N8, in which he won the MOSAC Rally, to a Subaru N11 that could give him a running stomach as flag off time draws closer. “I have had sleepless nights. The car is not firing well and time is running out.

I haven’t even had time to go route reccing. I am not in the right frame of mind now,” Mutebi lamented on Friday.

The Mogas Rally Team driver who will take off second to Rwandan Christakis Fitidis (Subaru N12) has every reason to worry as all top contenders will turn up in competitive cars.

Mutebi will be chased by Jas Mangat (Subaru N12), Duncan Mubiru (Subaru N14) and reigning national champion Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge (Subaru N10).

The third round of the national championship organized by Uganda Motor Club (UMC) will be flagged off today at 11:00am at Tropical Inn in Masaka.
