Parliament pays tribute to education icon Prof. Kajubi

Parliament Friday afternoon held a special session to pay tribute to the fallen education icon Prof. William Senteza Kajubi.

Parliament Friday afternoon held a special session to pay tribute to the fallen education icon Prof. William Senteza Kajubi.

A  session started at 2:00pm Friday after the body lay in state from 8:00am, following an announcement by Government on Thursday.  

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni paid tribute to Kajubi.

Museveni, who attended the vigil at the deceased's home,in Bugolobi suburbs  said Prof. Kajubi was a great educationist that Uganda will miss greatly.

He noted that at 86 years of age, Prof. Kajubi was not a very old man, adding that the country could have still kept benefited from his expertise had he lived longer. Prof. Kajubi passed on Tuesday morning in Kampala, after collapsing in the bathroom.

 In his education carrer of over 50 years, Professor Kajubi served as Vice Chancellor of Makerere University and Nkumba University.

President Museveni nted that  the passing on of Prof. Kajubi is not only a great loss to the family and the educational fraternity, but to the whole nation.

He commended  the late Professor's children for looking after their father, in his advanced age. A funeral service will be held this afternoon at St. Paul's Catherdral Namirembe and burial is scheduled tomorrow (Saturday), in Wakiso district.
