Land Commission staffs have been instructed to don corporate clothes during working days for easy identification by the general public seeking their services.

The move according to the secretary Land Commission; Henry Kaweesa, is one of the measures intended to minimize fraud which has tarnished the institution’s image.

“I am optimistic that this is one of the measures that will enable the public to deal with the rightful personalities within the institution,” said Kaweesa while handing over the corporate wear to all the commission’s staff.

He explained that over the years, several people have been masquerading as employees of the Commission within the corridors confusing the ignorant people from approaching the rightful offices.

As a result, there have been several fraud-related cases which have blemished the otherwise good institution.

Kaweesa also noted that the institution’s staff implicated in fraud-related cases risk 12 years in jail. “The Commission has a negative perception within the public due to the fact that the programs activities are not given the required publicity,”

In order to revive its glory, the organization plans to bring the public closer through sensitization programs, this will assist to ensure that they acquire knowledge on how the commission operates hence reduce fraudulent acts Kaweesa said.
