Ugandan drivers to give Fitidis a chase in Masaka

RWANDAN Christakis Fitidis is a rally veteran who has seen it all. But a fierce chase from Uganda’s top drivers in the Pine Ridge. MOSAC Rally this weekend will offer him a unique experience.

Rwandan rally veteran Christakis Fitidis, in Subaru N12, will hit the road first as the Pine Ridge MOSAC Rally in Masaka this weekend.

In the absence of championship leader Jas Mangat, Fitidis’s desire to win the 2012 national championship has been emphasized.

But the Rwandan, who faces the handicap of encountering more traffic in the competitive sections than the chasing pack, will have to keep pace with championship rivals to keep his title hopes alive.

Hot on his heels will be Wycliff Bukenya (Mitsubishi Evo9), Ronald Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi Evo9), Duncan Mubiru (Subaru N14) and reigning national champion Susan ‘Super Lady Muwonge (Subaru N10).

The second round of the National Rally Championship which has attracted 37 entrants will start with a super special stage at Pine Ridge double track circuit in Masaka on Saturday.

The second leg will cover eight sections in Masaka, Kalungu, Lwengo and Bukomansimbi on Sunday.
