Maroons FC will today decide on whether or not to dismiss their striking players and ask Uganda Super League limited for special dispensation to recruit new ones.

Prisons officials have convened a crisis meeting today to decide the fate of the players strike. The USL also meet clubs today to find a solution to the standoff that paralyzed some league games.

Maroons coach Asaph Mwebaze confirmed the meeting saying that the club no longer needed the players involved in the strike.

"We are going to take steps according to rules of the force. You cannot continue with rebellious players, who are asking for a minimum wage which is not even in the laws of the country," Mwebaze said.

Sixteen including top Maroons players George Abege, Silvester Okello and on loan from Proline FC Kudus Elasu among others did not show up for the club's Uganda Super League game against Police on Saturday. The game ended 3-3.

Mwebaze fears that if the club does not handle the feud with their players quickly the Prisons Council is likely to withdraw their support to the team and focus on the netball team which is their darling at the moment.

A player strike in the Bell Super League entered day two on Saturday affecting the Proline versus Water game at Nakivubo. Water started with seven against a full side Proline after the rest didn't show up.

Earlier the Express FC versus Simba game could not continue when the Red Eagles' side was was left with six players. Fire Masters players refused to play against SC Villa.
