Opposition pressure group, Activists for Change (A4C) Thursday vowed to continue with their activities of conducting public rallies despite the Police chief’s warning to stop them.

The Inspector of General of Police Kale Kayihura last week warned A4C to stop holding rallies without police permission.

Addressing a news conference at Katonga Road in Kampala, A4C coordinator, Mathias Mpuuga insisted that they are to continue with their activities arguing that they are legal.

"The more they plot to disorganize our rallies, the more they strengthen our resolve," Mpuuga declared.

Mpuuga accused the police for planting hooligans in their rallies to cause chaos and stone policemen to dent A4C.

"Police owns these stone-throwing squads, these were Kiboko squads but have changed to stone throwing,"Mpuuga asserted.

Mpuuga said that constitutional court outlawed section 33 sub section 2 of the Police Act which was a basis upon which police dispersed rallies.

He announced that they are to form their own brigade to arrest people who throw stones to the police and leadd to the smashing of car wind screens for A4C members.

He accused the police of being responsible for smashing their cars and instead turns to the very members of the pressure group.
