EFFORTS to resolve the stand-off between soccer governing body FUFA and Express continue this week with a meeting of committees named by both parties.

Lawyer Alex Ruganda will lead a three-man FUFA team that meets Express this week. The team also has Uganda Super League Committee secretary Moses Magogo and FUFA CEO Edgar Watson.

According to the head of FUFA’s media committee Rogers Mulindwa, Express are also expected to name a team of three to meet and find ways of settling the case out of court.

Express have questioned the legality of FUFA to run Ugandan football. FUFA in turn gave Express upto December 31 to withdraw the case or be banned.

An agreement was however reached on December 29 between the two parties to form committees to delve into the problem and have the case settled out of court. The meeting on December 29 was led by FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa and Express’ board member Bbale Mugera.

“It is a matter of urgency and we want to critically look at where Express’ grievances stem from. It is after we understand the reasons that we will come out with a way forward,” said Rogers Mulindwa.
