A Bruno Olobo hat trick yesterday spurred KCC to their sixth win in the 2009/10 Uganda Super League.

Olobo struck in the second half inspiring KCC to their first win in six matches, as they whipped Arua Central 4-0 at Nakivubo. Tommy Okello was KCC’s other scorer in a match where referee Fred Mufta sent off Arua’s Martin Ambiku for elbowing Sula Baagala in the 57 minute.

In Jinja Caeser Okhuti produced one of his best games for Bunamwaya as his side whipped Victors 4-0. He did the spadework in Tonny Odur, Yudah Mugalu, and Robert Kimuli goals before netting the fourth.

Army side Simba also registered a badly needed win by edging Hoima 2-1. Struggling CRO also had reason to smile after beating Maji 2-0.

* Contrary to the last two seasons, league champions URA FC will confront Express FC in today’s top-of-the-table clash in unusual fashion. The tax collectors will be underdogs.

By all accounts, Express simply look to be the stronger side.

Whatever judgment is passed on how the Red Eagles have fared in their previous fixtures, it ought to be said that the current Wankulukuku squad is far better than the side that lost 2-0 to URA in their previous meeting last season.

In fact, if the tax collectors are to survive the intensity of the game at Namboole Stadium, coach Moses Basena will need all his experienced stars to perform to the very best of their powers.

“They are the team of the moment and yet we are coming from a very bad spell. But the beauty of it is we are at home and probably that could count for us,” URA head coach Moses Basena stated yesterday.

The champions will make the engagement aware that all three points could reduce the gap between the two to just two, while a win for Express, would give them breathing space.
