I do not get a morning erection
Dear Dr,

I am a 29-year-old single man and scared of erectile dysfunction. I do not get the morning erection.

Pornorgraphy no longer has any effect on me. The problem has been persisting for the last one year. Please advise.

Dear MN,
From what you write, your problem is low sexual desire (libido). Usually, desire changes with time. It is usually high in our teens and early twenties, and starts decreasing later on. Sometimes one feels lots of it, and other times less.

This is normal and natural.
Sexual desire is affected by stress, anxiety, depression, some drugs and some foods. Worry kills sexual desire, which causes one to get more worried.

An erection in the morning is a common thing, especially when we are younger. But it is not a must to have it. You can still have a normal sex life.

What happens when you want to have sex? Do you fail to get an erection? Do you get one and it goes very quickly? All these may mean different things.

There may or may not be a problem. It is best to see a doctor and explain the problem to get advice.
