UGANDA’S hopes of winning the inaugural ICC Intercontinental Shield will be severely tested in next week’s clash with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). But national coach Ebrahim Mohammed is not losing any sleep.

The South African tactician has no illusions about the test that will be posed by a UAE side that is replete with skilful Pakistani-born cricketers but he insists challenges are part of first-class cricket. It is pointless to fear the UAE, that is Mohammed’s message.

“Any team you play at International level is never always easy,” urged the coach.

Uganda, who lead the four team Intercontinental Shield with 20 points, will face the second-placed UAE in a four day match in Dubai. UAE are six points behind Uganda’s team led by Akbar Baig.
